The Easy Place
I
was a child once, I know I was, I know I was
Magic and moonlight filled the air
Now, I need to know
Where did the easy place go?
I
mustn’t look in the mirror now
I’m too afraid what I might see
Been over the river and through the woods
All the time, running from me
But,
I’m finding my way home
Yes, I’m finding my way home
I
was an innocent, I know I was, I know I was
Swimming in sunshine, little to care
I’m lost, I need to know
Where did the easy place go?
The
eyes in my head have grown too old
They’ve seen the truth – they know the lies
But, my hands are still searching for something to hold
They lost their grip long ago.
But,
I’m finding my way home
Yes, I’m finding my way home
